Terms of Service
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These Terms of Service apply when you visit or use WhereShouldILearn, including its education directory, comparison features, guides, and decision tools.
Agreement and eligibility
By accessing or using WhereShouldILearn, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service or create an account. The service is not intended for children under 13.
What the service provides
WhereShouldILearn provides education information, school profiles, source-backed guides, comparison features, and browser-based tools intended to help people organize questions and compare options. Information may be incomplete, change over time, or depend on the sources available to us.
Educational information is not professional advice
The service is for general informational and decision-support purposes. It is not an admissions, academic, financial, legal, medical, or other professional advisory service, and it does not guarantee admission, educational outcomes, cost, accreditation, or suitability.
Verify important details—including admissions requirements, tuition, program availability, accreditation, and support services—with the relevant institution or qualified professional before making a decision. Do not rely on a profile, score, guide, or tool as the sole basis for a consequential choice.
Accounts and saved information
Some account features use Clerk for sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for activity under your account. Contact us if you believe an account has been used without permission.
The decision tools save entries in your browser. Signed-in saved-school and comparison selections may be synchronized to the service. Clear local browser data or use the available app controls to remove information from your browser or saved list.
Acceptable use
- Use the service lawfully and do not interfere with its security, availability, or normal operation.
- Do not submit unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or infringing material, or use the service to violate another person’s rights.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the service, or collect information from it through abusive or excessive automated requests.
Feedback and submitted material
You retain rights you hold in feedback and materials you submit. You give WhereShouldILearn a limited, non-exclusive license to receive, store, review, and use those materials to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the service. Only submit information and screenshots you are comfortable sharing with the operator and relevant service providers.
Fees and changes to the service
The public service is currently free and has no paid plans. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. If paid features are introduced, we will provide applicable pricing and terms before charging you.
Third-party sites and information
The service may link to schools, source materials, or third-party providers. We do not control those services or guarantee their content, availability, or privacy practices. A link or listing is not an endorsement.
Intellectual property
WhereShouldILearn and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, design, and original content, subject to third-party rights and source attributions. You may use the service for its intended purpose but may not copy or redistribute substantial parts of it without permission, except where the law allows.
Availability, disclaimers, and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for a particular decision.
To the extent permitted by law, WhereShouldILearn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access if needed to protect the service, comply with law, or address a serious violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Contact us about account or data deletion requests.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
